Congratulations, Ben!
Friday, April 27th, 2007Ben, congratulations on your graduation and your new assignment. Well done!

Ben, congratulations on your graduation and your new assignment. Well done!

I installed Xubuntu (Linux) on my old Toshiba laptop, and it is good. Admittedly, this is only day two, but the installation went well and the applications seem to work. I even got wifi and network printing working in record time. Now the old laptop has an up-to-date OS. Win98 that came on it is no longer supported, and the machine’s too old to run WinXP or Vista well.
Now, what project to tackle? . . . Spring will arrive, eventually, and answer my question.
Ma’s making a delicious smelling dinner — something we saw on Martha Stewart while exercising this morning. After dinner, we’ll have a real reason to exercise come Wednesday.
We’ll, we’ve gone from a sunny 75 degrees and mowing grass on Tuesday to 24 degrees and snow flurries today (Thursday). It’s all part of the wonder of Spring in Ohio.
Ma’s ready for Easter with a fridge full of food and 12 Paska in the freezer. We’re both looking forward to Mike, Jenn & Caleb’s visit this weekend.   Wish Jeff, Anna-Marie & Sebastian could be here too — we’ll have to wait a few more months for that.
I managed to clear some trash from the basement — five boxes of old receipts, bank statements, etc. to the commercial shredder (the fireplace was too slow, and the home model shredder was overwhelmed) and a box of computer pieces parts to the hazardous waste collection site. That’s the extent of my Spring cleaning so far.
