Jeff -- The 'ancient laptop' is probably not a good candidate. I had Ubuntu running on my old Toshiba a couple years ago, and it was a tight fit then. Now the minimum recommended hardware has 512MB ram and 4GB HDD. Note that I did reinstall the UNR on a larger partition when I started having trouble installing updates with just 2.5MB HDD partition.

The homepage looks a little cleaner, so thumbs-up there. Saw the release of the netbook Ubuntu release & thought it might be worthwhile to install on the ancient laptop still lying around, but since the wifi adapter I have is so outdated it'd be little more than a glorified word processor at this point, so I think I'll let it rest.

I like the 3 hour rule, too.

I embrace your 3 hour rule--I find it more and more difficult to get so caught up in yard work that I forget the time: knees, shoulders, back all let me know when my three hours are up. Glad you're happy with the drupal and ubuntu (where do they get these unsavory names?), but I sure can't see a difference,
