COSI
We went to COSI (Center of Science and Industry in Columbus) today with Mike, Caleb and Owen. It was a lot of fun for them and us. Ohio was threatened by thunderstorms, but we were spared all but some refreshing sprinkles during lunch and walking to the car for the ride home. I can’t begin to recount the exhibits, but here are a few photos.

I love the pictures of Owen as everyone looks up at the unicyclist–he is SO over science!

The unicyclist picture was late in our visit, and a couple hours after Owen was expected to fall asleep for his nap. Rather than nap, he was wide-eyed and ready to investigate everything. Five minutes out of the parking lot for the trip home, Mike reported that both Owen and Caleb were asleep. Guess it was a good visit.
Owen’s favorite part, and what impressed Mike most, was a play area for Kindergarten and younger children — only they and parents are allowed into that area. It was full of age-appropriate toys and equipment, not too crowded, and no older kids to interfere with the young ones’ fun. Mike felt that alone was worth the price of admission. Smart of the planners to recognize the fact that some might not be ready for too large a dose of science yet — or at least that some needed to experience science on a different level. Sorry no pictures of that. Ma and I had a sit in the hallway outside while they played.
