What’s that Smell?

We’ve been able to crack the bedroom window for some fresh air overnight the past two nights. So glad that Spring is arriving. This morning, however, I awoke to the not-so-sweet smell of skunk. Probably Jean’s, that she was so excited to have seen on her drive to work yesterday morning. Anyway, that’s why I’m up at 5:30 AM, and Ma is doing away with me in her dreams — for closing the window and making her less comfortable. Now Cali wants out again. Hope she doesn’t get sprayed.

Not so excited this morning. When I parked in our parking lot, which is a hefty walk from our building, the lot reeked of skunk. No critter or carcass was anywhere to be found. The smell was so strong that my roomies could smell it in our office when they came into work 10 minutes later!

Was it on you? Or lingering in the parking lot? I’d hate to think you’re wearing eau de skunk parfum now!

Fortunately, the smell dissipated after a short time. I was really glad when the air cleared. I have decided that skunks are not your friends.

Do they just waddle around emitting their foul odor, or do they only stink things up when they’re threatened? This will take some investigation before I write them off completely. They’re really cute.
